IWMI shares the CROP Approach at World Bank KGGTF KGID 2026

IWMI was honored to participate in the 15th Korea Green Innovation Days(KGID 2026), hosted in Sejong, Republic of Korea, under the World Bank Korea Green Growth Trust Fund(KGGTF) platform.

At the Water Session – “From Systems to Services: Scaling Reliable and Resilient Water Delivery,” Dr. Jaepil Cho, Executive Director of IWMI, delivered a presentation titled:

“Building Climate-Resilient Digital Platform for Integrated, Multi-Scale Water Management: The CROP Approach.”

Through this session, IWMI introduced its vision for CROP(Climate Resilient Operation Platform) — an integrated digital water management platform combining climate prediction, satellite data, IoT-based field monitoring, watershed modeling, and decision-support tools for climate-resilient water management.

During KGID 2026, IWMI also held bilateral meetings with World Bank project teams, including:

  • Uzbekistan Irrigation Management in Central Asia Team Discussion topics included water efficiency, irrigation management, sedimentation, glacier-melt-driven flow changes from mountain regions, infrastructure damage, and capacity building for young professionals and technicians.
  • Tanzania Railway Project Team Discussions focused on drought-related dam water supply issues, flood and sedimentation risks, irrigation water use, and potential cooperation with Korean technical partners.

IWMI will continue to strengthen global partnerships by sharing Korea-based digital water management technologies and supporting practical solutions for climate resilience, irrigation efficiency, and integrated watershed management.
