SQM: An Observation-Station-Based Downscaling Package for SSP Climate Data Production

While the Grid-based Simple Quantile Mapping (SQMGrid) package is designed to generate gridded climate change downscaled datasets, the Simple Quantile Mapping (SQM) package has been developed to produce future projections based on Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) scenarios for meteorological observation stations with long-term observational records. Changes in climate characteristics under climate change can be analyzed using ETCCDI extreme climate indices based on the generated daily gridded downscaled datasets. In addition, the package supports BioClim bioclimatic indices for ecological applications and Growing Degree Days (GDD) analysis for agricultural applications. Long-term drought analysis can also be conducted using the monthly Effective Drought Index (EDI).
